On a warm evening last month, Brittany and Matt and I spent an hour exploring the shoreline at Fortunes Rocks Beach in Biddeford, Maine for their film engagement session. As the sun set, the two laughed their way across the sandy beach, snuggled up on the rocky coastline, and danced together at the water's edge. I'm so excited to share this cozy look at the love they share, and can't wait for their wedding this fall!
Last week Kristi and Scott traveled to North Carolina for an intimate wedding with family and friends. This past Sunday they returned to Maine to celebrate their marriage and the gift of finding each other later in life. They shared the sweetest first dance, spent time with close friends, and braved the rain with me for portraits at a nearby estate.
I first met Lynn, one of the owners of Tuckaway Tree Farm, at a networking event this past December. We only spoke briefly but as she described her emerging tree-farm turned wedding venue in Lebanon, Maine, I just her space would be a perfect fit for the type of weddings I’m drawn to - intimate, natural, and relaxed. She spoke with such incredible passion about the farm that not only did I plan to visit the farm as soon as the snow cleared, but I started planning an inspiration shoot to explore what a wedding might look like in the space.
I met Megan and Alex through mutual friends over a year ago, so by the time their wedding rolled around, I was already so familiar with their loving, playful, and compassionate relationship - not only towards each other, but to all the people they know and come into contact with. They both have the most contagious smiles and laughter, so it was no surprise that their wedding was full of joy - from the people they surrounded themselves with to their intimate ceremony overlooking the foggy mountains at Point Lookout.
Marja and Max traveled from their home in southern Maine to elope on the snowy coast of Rockland at the Samoset Resort. They started their morning on the balcony of their room overlooking the breakwater, before heading down to the outdoor pavilion (freshly shoveled just for their ceremony!) to exchange their vows in the chilly March air.
Crystal and Ryan are the kind of couple that you look at and want to be more like. Every time I’ve been around them they’re full of laughter and smiles and and genuine kindness and devotion to one another. Early in their relationship they bonded over their love for Bissell Brothers beer, so it was only natural that we made the Portland Brewery a part of their engagement shoot.
